The Mistress Diaries

The Mistress Diaries by Julianne Maclean

First line:  ”Lord Vincent Sinclair kicked open the door of the sumptuous London hotel room with staggering brute force and carried Cassandra Montrose, Lady Colchester, over the threshold.”

From the first, Julianne MacLean built up the tension and sustained it nicely throughout.  Her hero is an ideal scoundrel and rake who really goes through the gamut.  You can feel his path through the carelessness and anger turn toward compassion, then love.   The heroine, a proud, loving mother willing to do what is necessary for her child, shows you the strength of her character. Skillfully written. I will happily read more of Julianne MacLean.

For: Women who love a strong hero who sees his baby for the first time and is overwhelmed by the emotion of it all.  -Kathy Wheeler
