For the Love of Books, Let’s Party

IMG_5528The little ditty goes a little somethin’ like this…
Celebration time, come on!
We are family! I got all my sisters and me!
Come on baby, twist and shout. Oooh…….

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate a little thing called…books. They make us laugh, cry and don’t tell us that our ass looks big in our jeans. Just like our girlfriends, books are there for us when we need to escape the real world for a little while and dream a little dream…or nightmare depending on your genre.

Today is our official launch party for Book End Babes, a book site and book club where girls night out meets great reads. To help get us all festive, we’re kicking off the new site and book club with great girlie giveaways all day long!

We raise our Mimosa Toast to Book End Babes with a faboo launch party celebrated on three sites – our Facebook Book End Babes Group, Twitter: www.twitter.com/bookendbabes.com and right here on our site. To see the chances to win, go to our Contest Closet for the rules. If you join the club, you’ll get EXTRA chances to win these fun prizes. To JOIN, you either bring in your existing book club to our network OR start up one as a queenB for your area. You get to invite the babes. See the ABOUT page for more info on BEbabes.

For the site entries, leave a comment on THIS post or Sam Wilde’s Side Dish essay. If you’re already a member, introduce yourself, tell us your reading pleasures and more about the babes in your book club. My goal is by the end of the day we’ll have brought in chapters 9 and 10!

Mommy necklace by Jamie Livingston Designs (includes ONE personalized bead and a chain. You get to pick your bead color and have Jamie personalize it with your child’s name on one side & the birthdate on the other.) If you want extra beads (because you have more than one kiddo, you may purchase them off Jamie’s website). NOTE: I wear my mommy necklace absolutely everywhere and you wouldn’t believe how many compliments I get on it. I love having my three lil darlings around my neck and close to my heart. Besides it looking so damn cool!)

  1. I am an avid reader, but have never been in a book club before! A few months ago some of my Twitter friends decided to start a club in Wichita and asked me to join. I WAS ECSTATIC!

We’ve met twice now and I love these ladies. They are fun, laid back and don’t take themselves too seriously. Each of us likes to read, but we love to talk just as much. It’s a wonderful experience that I am SO GLAD I became a part of it!

  2. Andrea, that’s great news. I know I’m really looking forward to getting my girls together on Oct. 1st for our first book party. The group is a really eclectic mix of gals so should make the convo all the more interesting.

  3. I’ve been in many rounds of book clubs, and I always end up frustrated. (Mostly because I was generally the only one to READ the book.) Can’t wait to meet with like-minded folks in Chapter 1!

  4. Lori, I hear you. We don’t want a girls night out DISGUISED as a book club we want a book party where we can have fun AND discuss books – even if what we all like to read is wildly different. I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone reads this month. I think what catches our attention is revealing in and of itself. -Malena

  5. Congratulations, y’all! Great site! And Jamie – why didn’t you gimme a head’s up on this, darling? Before today?!

  6. Hey, Babes!!!!!

Happy launch! And since it coincides with my birthday, I’m celebrating twice. (We started with a champagne breakfast this morning)

  7. Hi, Julie! Thanks for coming to the party and for being a queenB. How did you get your pic to show up? I didn’t think I was a techdummie but I can’t figure it out!
