Life’s Greatest Gifts by Michelle Sedas

I met them in elementary school. Together we survived high school. Three of us were college roommates. We were one another’s bridesmaids and welcomed one another’s babies. They are my girlfriends and one of my life’s greatest gifts.
Oh, my husband is wonderful, my children are the light of my life, but in a small remote corner of my heart, there is a spot that can only be filled by my girlfriends. By these kindred spirits who allow me to share my joys and sorrows; who encourage and inspire me; who continue to love me even when I make mistakes. We’ve laughed and cried and shared our hopes and dreams. And I consider myself quite a lucky girl to have such great girlfriends.
This holiday season, while the malls are filled with those looking to find the perfect gift, I know that I already have the greatest gifts. I have my health, a loving family, and fantastic girlfriends. And it is my hope that this year you, too, may focus on what matters most and may be blessed with life’s greatest gifts.
