His At Night – Sherry Thomas

Elissandre will do anything to escape.  Anything!  Trapped in her uncle’s house and desperate, she has only one course—to ensnare some unsuspecting fool into marriage.  How else is she to save she and her aunt from a fate worse than death?

Welcome Unsuspecting Fool—Lord Vere.

Embroiled in a plot to infiltrate the Edgerton household, Lord Vere, a secret agent for the crown, uses whatever methods at hand to gain access through his network of spies and his façade of senselessness.  A cover that’s worked considerably well in the past.

Too late!  Vere is trapped.

Emotion pours from the soul of this story in Elissandre’s attempt to save herself and her aunt.  She has but one shot when her uncle sets out for a business trip and she takes it.  And Lord Vere soon finds his own soul seeking more than the satisfaction of a less than rewarding career as the ton’s favorite idiot.

Soon they are both trapped, each by their own attraction to the other and the ensuing danger destined to bring them together.  This book warrants a second read for certain.  Kathy L Wheeler

  1. Thanks. In case it did not come across, I loved this book. I worry about giving too much away in something with an element of suspense. Sherry is a fabulous storyteller.
