I&#8217;m sure my fellow bookies would agree there&#8217;s nothing quite like being surrounded by thousands of books to make your head spin. <em>So many books, so little time.</em>  A lot of people don&#8217;t know that publishers pay for premium placement at a bookstore and corporate determines other special racks so you only know what&#8217;s being promoted in store by actually <em>going </em>in store. So we&#8217;ve done it for you. A few things that caught our camera&#8217;s eye&#8230;</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0445.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-211" title="img_0445" src="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0445-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>STEPHANIE MEYERS&#8217; MANIA. Everywhere I turned, there she was. Or rather, one of her books or promotion for her upcoming release. I&#8217;m a complete schmuck. I gave in and bought Twilight to see what the hub-bub is all about.</li>
</ul>
<div>Covers that jumped off the shelf at me: <a href="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0446.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-212" title="img_0446" src="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0446-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a>Generation Dead by Daniel Waters about zombie outcasts at high school. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/142310921X/athesbook-20" target="_blank">Click here for more. </a></div>
<div><a href="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0444.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-213" title="img_0444" src="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0444-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a><a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060843292/athesbook-20" target="_blank">Moose</a>, a memoir of fat camp by Stephanie Klein. I saw so many obese kids in Fort Worth it made me choke up. A national pantry raid is in order.</div>
<div><a href="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0448.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-214" title="img_0448" src="http://www.athenasbookshelf.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/img_0448-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></div>
<div>Recommended summer reading by B&amp;N: <em>Lovely Bones</em> (expect a big push since the movie comes out later this year), <em>Choke, Loving Frank, Middlesex, The Pillars of the Earth, The Innocent Man</em>, to name a shelf full.</div>
<div>Book I was most excited to find out is in new release: Jane Porter&#8217;s <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446699241/athesbook-20" target="_blank">Mrs. Perfect</a>.Expect a review in 2 weeks on A/B. </div>
